What is the Alano Club of Portland?...

The Alano Club of Portland is a not for profit Oregon corporation, founded in 1947, which owns and operates the facility at Northwest 24th and Kearney Street, Portland, Oregon. The Primary purpose of the club is to operate a facility in which Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon Family Groups, as well as other 12 step programs can meet. Memberships, donations, and our annual fund-raiser help support our operation.

Approximately 4,000 people per week are using the Alano Club to attend one of the 95 meetings being held in the home-like atmosphere. The Alano Club provides a place where anyone in the community can obtain information about alcoholism and recovery. Individuals who are experiencing problems with drinking can find an understanding listener and the assurance that they are not alone. Here you will find that there is a solution, and help is available. Treatment centers frequently bring clients to meetings so they can make contacts in the recovering community for help after they have completed their treatment program. This is a vital step in many people's recovery from alcoholism.
