Welcome to the Alano Club of Portland Web Site. We've tried to build this website to be as compatible with as many different browsers, platforms and configurations as possible. Sometimes, though, preferences get change or old browsers hang around too long. Here are our recommendations for making your visit to our site (and many others on the web) the best possible experience. 1) Download a recent-build browser. The most recent versions of Netscape Navigator, Internet Explorer or opera.com come pre-loaded and pre-configured to handle most of the dynamic websites being created today. If you take the time to download the latest versions now, you'll save time in the long-run over having to install numerous plug-ins and re-configuring the preferences. 2) Check your browsers preferences. Make sure that both JavaScript and style-sheet rendering are enabled. Also check that you have the Quicktime and Real Audio plug-ins. Most websites use these applications for their multi-media files. You can download the latest Quicktime here, and the Real Audio Player here. 4) By default, the AOL browser compresses images for faster loading of websites. This option will degrade the quality of displayed images and can be turned off in the user settings.
